The Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) requires that every employer must keep certain records for each employee, which includes certain identifying information about the employee and data about the hours worked and the wages earned. Similarly, the employees are encouraged to keep a record of all the wages and hours worked In order to enforce the latter, the Wage and Hour Division in the Department of Labor had a business need to strengthen its outreach strategy of reaching workers (especially young workers and child laborers). The requirement was to offer the target audience a convenience tool to maintain record of work hours and to assure that they are being paid properly. If not, the solution should serve as an avenue to encourage the workers to contact the Wage and Hour Division
