Department of Labor—Veterans Employment and Training Services (VETS)

Business Need
The Department of Labor (DOL) Veterans Employment and Training Services (VETS) mission is to provide veterans and service members with the resources and services to help them succeed in the 21st century workforce by maximizing their employment opportunities, protecting their employment rights, and meeting labor-market demands with qualified veterans.

Solution
To capture the information needed to assist veterans and services members, the technology and functionality of two web-based case management applications, the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA) Information Management System and the Veterans' Preference Information Management System (VPIMS), were upgraded and enhanced.

Results
Geographically dispersed VETS investigators and staff have easy access to both case management applications, which allows them to provide on-demand services for our veterans and service members.
