Alfredo Casta    :: President and Chief Executive Officer

President & CEO, Cascades Technologies, inc.

Alfredo Casta, founded Cascades Technologies inc. with the vision to “empower our clients with effective solutions through the use of technology, experience, and knowledge; fully understanding their vision and challenges.”

For the past 9 years, Alfredo Casta has articulated his vision to the steadily growing CTi team, resulting in consistently providing quantifiable results for our valued customers. Mr. Casta’s dedication to success and his leadership skills have helped to propel CTi into a growing IT solutions company with long standing clients. In 2005 and 2006, CTi was named one of Virginia’s “Fastest Growing Companies”, and presented the prestigious “Virginia Fantastic Fifty Award.” Additional recognition includes CTi being named to the Inc. 500 for the past two years.

Mr. Casta is deeply committed to giving back to the community and building a strong and capable workforce in the DC Metro Area. As a champion of the remote office concept, Mr. Casta is vigorously working to bring visibility to transportation issues that affect workers in Northern Virginia and the DC Metro Area as a whole. Mr. Casta firmly believes that employee quality of life is a driving issue for recruiting and retaining a skilled workforce. In the 2006, Mr. Casta opened a Hub Zone office in San Juan, Puerto Rico to provide project management and application development services in support of CTi’s Project Management Office (PMO).

Mr. Casta has over 18 years of experience in the management of IT systems, including senior leadership positions in both the public and private sectors. Prior to starting CTi, Mr. Casta spent many years in public service with the U.S. Department of Labor. Additionally, he served as a Project Manager and Consultant for various private IT firms before starting CTi.

Mr. Casta is an avid tennis player and has hosted the “CTi Tennis Classic” for the past several years. This event donates the proceeds to Vecinos Unidos/United Neighbors, Inc. an organization dedicated to making the future brighter for Herndon children.


Carlos Rojas    :: Executive Director of Information Technology

Carlos Rojas is Executive Director of Information Technology for CTi. He is responsible for the successful planning, implementation and maintenance of IT operations for the company. With his extensive experience and success with information technology, Mr. Rojas spearheads the direction of long-term IT solutions, polices and procedures that support the business needs of CTi and its clients.

Mr. Rojas has successfully managed many large software application development efforts as well as complex system integration projects for our Federal and commercial clients. He brings over nine years of IT experience to CTi which covers the full software and systems development life-cycle efforts as well as systems/solutions architecture, software development, project and program management.

Mr. Rojas has a bachelor of science degree in software engineering form the Universidad De San Buenaventura, and has a master’s in Information Systems at George Mason University. Mr. Rojas is a certified Project Manager Professional (PMP) and certified ITIL professional. He is also an active member of the Herndon/Dulles Chamber of Commerce.


Nick Budhai    :: Executive Director of Federal Solutions

Mr. Budhai is Executive Director of Federal Solutions for CTi. He is responsible for the program management of one of CTi's largest Federal clients. Mr. Budhai has leveraged his ten years of IT experience to deliver improved IT services and solutions. His leadership in business process management has helped CTi clients to realign their business processes to successfully manage, deliver and support their IT services.

During his tenure at the U.S. Department of Labor Office of Public Affairs, Mr. Budhai has helped to transform the Division of Enterprise Communications by implementing ongoing strategic planning and business process realignment. Mr. Budhai has been instrumental in establishing a robust project management office (PMO) to realize enhanced alignment of cost, schedule, resources, quality and overall performance.

Mr. Budhai is a certified Project Manager Professional (PMP), a certified ITIL professional and a certified Document Imaging Architect (CDIA). He is also a recipient of the U.S. Department of Labor Certificate of Appreciation Award from the Assistant Secretary of Labor, April 2006.


Cristina Naranjo    ::  Executive Director of Information Systems

Cristina Naranjo is Executive Director of Information Systems for CTi. She has more than nine years of experience in the design and development of multiple software applications for clients in the Federal health market.

Ms. Naranjo has a proven track record of success with information technology solutions. She brings to bear extensive experience in requirements gathering and analysis, system and software design, relational database systems, and the successful implementation of multiple highly complex systems. Ms. Naranjo also has experience in systems integration, testing, training, installation, and on-site support.

Ms. Naranjo was the principal architect and Lead Engineer of the National Institute of Health (NIH-NIAID) Web-based applications. Ms. Naranjo is the project manager for CTi’s process and performance improvement initiative, SEI CMMI Level II appraisal preparation. In addition, she is a certified Six Sigma practitioner.

Ms. Naranjo has a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana. She is a certified Project Manager Professional (PMP) and a certified ITIL professional, and an active member of the Herndon/Dulles Chamber of Commerce.


Sharon Peterson    ::  Executive Director of Professional Services

Ms. Peterson is the Executive Director of Professional Services. She is responsible for a wide range of IT professional services including consulting services, IT governance and program management. Ms. Peterson has extensive business management experience having previously owned a successful language translation company serving many Fortune 500 companies.

Ms. Peterson has over 10 years of experience in the IT field, including extensive experience in capital planning and investment control, enterprise architecture, performance measurement, project management, budget development and information assurance.

Ms. Peterson is currently spearheading an effort to expand existing and new lines of business for CTi in the areas of business consulting services.

Ms. Peterson is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).
