HERNDON, VA – January 3, 2008 — Cascades Technologies, Inc. (CTi), an 8(a) Federal government IT and professional services provider, takes great pride in congratulating the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL), Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP), one if its key clients, on its notable management accomplishment.  DOL recently announced markedly improved scores from the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) on the FY 2009 DisabilityInfo.gov IT Business Case submission, ranking DisabilityInfo.gov among the top in the Federal government.

CTi has worked closely with the DisabiltyInfo.gov Federal manager since 2005 to improve planning, acquisition, budgeting and control of this significant IT investment. CTi supports the DisabilityInfo.gov web portal, of which ODEP was named the managing partner by Presidential mandate.  Utilizing CTi’s expertise in Capital Planning Investment Control (CPIC), two other of DOL’s major IT investments received outstanding scores from OMB on their FY09 IT business cases (Exhibit 300s).

The multi-agency collaborative e-Gov initiative, known as DisabilityInfo.gov, received the second highest score in the Department (43 out of 50). CTi received a letter of commendation this year from the Assistant Secretary of Labor from the Office of Disability Employment Policy for outstanding customer support.  CTi’s CPIC team works in close collaboration with our Federal client to assist in coordinating the planning, acquisition, and management of capital assets into the budget decision-making process for better asset management in compliance with OMB requirements.
